Wild Egg Collecting in QLD and NT

Currently in the Northern Territory up to 100000 Saltwater crocodile eggs can be collected from the wild for the crocodile farming industry. Queensland’s limit is dramatically less due to lower numbers of crocodiles at 5000 eggs, if left in the wild the vast majority of crocodile eggs will never hatch mainly from flooding or high incubation temperatures inside the nest. Top End Crocodile Service works closely with farms around Australia to collect these eggs from the wild.
